GNU Privacy Guard (GnuPG)

GnuPG is a program used to encrypt plaintext content into ciphertext, so that only the sender and recipient of a message who possess the corresponding keys can decrypt the ciphertext back into readable plaintext. Besides message encryption, GnuPG is also used to encrypt files, such as those stored locally on the user's hard drive.
