About the exhibition

Falko Richter writes about the exhibition “perspective-less-human”: “With the title “perspective-less-human”, the artist Sebastian Vorein, who comes from Bad Elster, aims at a diversity of viewpoints. Whether of a mental or visual nature, there are always multiple “perspectives” on things.”

Put simply, one's viewpoint changes with one's perspective. A series of studies entitled "perspective-less" forms the starting point for Vorein's artistic exploration of perspectives in his work. The artist, who currently lives and works in Dresden, is interested in the effect created by this unsettling perspective. The viewer is forced to reconsider their position several times, and every attempt to orient themselves is challenged by lines of vanishing point. Applied to human beings, this raises fundamental, critical questions about origins, personal positions, and visions of the future.
"Perspective-less" here is not a resigned assessment of one's personal situation, but rather a questioning of one's own positions and actions, as well as a self-critical engagement with them.

In Vorein's further development of this theme, the human being becomes the direct subject of the paintings. He appears in them as both observer and observed. The exhibition "perspective-less-human" poses questions to the visitor – personal questions whose answers lie with each individual
